Fall into Fall and Winter Boots!

I am going to give away my age a little bit here, I'm in my mid - late twenties.

High school wasn't that long ago, but it seems like ages. Although I look back on it (for the most part) fondly, there are still some parts of it that I wouldn't re-do if you paid me, there are some things I thought that I can look back now and laugh about.

Case and point - Rubber Boots.

What comes to mind when you think of rubber boots? Your first thought is probably to envision a farmer fud type character right? Me too!

In high school I would not be caught dead wearing a pair of rubber boots! Not even if you paid me! Or winter boots for that matter! And I live in a climate where boots are a necessity in the winter. That didn't matter, I was not going to be caught dead in boots in the winter because they were not cool.

The Uggs came out, and I was one of the first of my friends to really get into them - I have at least 10 pairs now. My collection may even grow as they have come out with some newer and more up-to-date styles. I got my first pair of Uggs when I was 21. I actually bought them on Ebay straight from Australia! Even though they were being shipped across the globe, they were still cheaper than buying them locally.

This pair of Uggs is exactly the same as the first pair I got. I loved them so so much that I bought several more pairs over the course of the next couple of years!

More recently rubber boots have become all the rage. You know exactly what I'm talking about! And if you don't - well you either don't have rain where you live (not likely) or the trend hasn't hit your country or area yet. I'm talking about Hunter Wellies or Rubber Boots as we all know them. "Wellies" is the popular term from England, where these boots come from. And believe me, you can trust the UK knows about their fair share of rain!

Now I decided this year for the first time ever to invest in a pair of Rubber Boots - Hunter Rubber Boots or Wellies to be specific, these ones:

I also got a pair of "Welly socks"! Welly socks come in different patterns and prints, are made of fleece and are as tall as the boots and cuff over the top of the boot. They are fantastic! Not only do they look super cute and you can customize them - they make your rubber boots warm and snuggly!

Hunter Wellies are very expensive, they will run you about $150 CDN and the Welly socks are $50. Not cheap by any stretch! However, if you compare them to a price of Uggs they are reasonable, especially when you consider that they are completely water-proof, where as Uggs are not - no matter how many times you spray them with "all weather protector"!

If you live in a climate where you get a considerable amount of rain, and very little snow, rubber boots are perfect! Especially ones that you can wear super warm and cute socks in! You don't have to spend as much to get Hunters, your only paying for the name after all. Hunters are terrific and trendy, but at the end of the day, they're just another pair of rubber boots!

At the end of the day, all that really matters is that you keep your feet warm and dry :)
